The “Jichunge” hitmaker whose music has gotten a lot of airplay in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda radio stations, noted that his management had played a huge role in taking his music far. “There are many new artists, so I am humbled that I got the chance to be nominated,” said Baraka. In an earlier interview, Baraka had expressed his delight at being nominated. The “Siachani nawe” hit maker won the award for the Best Upcoming Artist at the Kilimanjaro Music Awards 2015 in a category that had seen four other rising artists nominated.
